Life on the Water

Some cool-ass river...

Take three idiots, a boat, some rope, and two giant tubes.

Somewhere on the Gulf Of Mexico

And don't ever let me hear about you harassing surfers off of Ft Myers Beach again! Gangsta shark fishing.

Near Hutchinson Island, FL

Yes, they really do play in the surf. I miss this place! This was a one-time lucky shot that's gotta be 10 years old.

Beaches

Sometimes, you've just gotta walk. It's a pleasure to do so when you live far away from civilization.

Surfing.

Some of my favorite surfing pics.

Cruising.

Hey, it's 5 o'clock somewhere.

It's all about the beaches.

You know, living like this just never gets old. No lifeguard on duty, no condos in sight. Take a walk with me along some of my favorite largely undiscovered local beaches.

Tropical Getaways

Port Lucaya

I love this place. It's the jewel of Grand Bahama Island, and very close to home.

Kilauea

Kilauea Lighthouse, and cliffs of the north shore of Kaua'i. There were actually two humpback whales in the cove, but they were too far for me to get any pictures of them. But if you look carefully, you can see shadows in the water.

Queen's Bath, Kaua'i

A hike to a very well-hidden local spot, ending in a nice swim. Fortunately, I caught good weather. Otherwise, this could have been quite dangerous.

Waimea Canyon, Kaua'i

A drive to the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific", and a hike through the tropical forests overlooking the valley.

Po'ipu

Kaua'i's recreational spot! There was even a Hawaiian monk seal sunning himself on the beach. Their estimated population on the island is between 16 and 30, so seeing one, though not a unique experience, is still quite special.

Wailua/'Opaeka'a/Kuilau Ridge

A hike through a tropical forest with incredible vistas and views of the wettest spot on Earth, Mt. Waiale'ale which gets over 430 inches of rain a year. It didn't disappoint while I was there, either... There were 1000 foot vertical drops on either side of the ridge, making for a panoramic experience. And the Wailua waterfall shots came out quite nicely as well.

Ke'e Beach/Na Pali Coast

An absolutely gorgeous beach that requires some work to find. I also trailblazed a bit further to get shots of the beginning of the Na Pali coast, which wasn't exactly easy (or safe).

Lydgate Park

Incredible snorkeling... I stopped and got some fish food to try to get a few extra friends - it worked better than I ever could have anticipated.

California Dreaming

Is this really a beach town?

Keep Santa Cruz weird!

Monterey

A trip to the Monterey Aquarium

Sacramento

The birthplace of this website, my former longtime hometown, and still one of my favorite places. Even though it's too damn cold in the winter.

Southern California

Not much here to see just yet, but that's because the last thing you want to do is stop having fun and take pictures of it.
