Come on In, The Water's Fine

No Lifeguard on Duty!

Big Dark Cloud

One of my first internet influences, and still a regular visit. I used to think he was responsible for Metal Sludge, but that's because we both used to hang out on AOL music message boards and he had one of the most cutting senses of humor.

Bill's Best

Old archive of 80s metal band news and reviews. It's been abandoned, but it still has info on a lot of "Where Are they Now" favorites.

Blabbermouth

How could I not link Blabbermouth? It's like the CNN of rock n roll.

BNR Metal Pages

Encyclopedia Metallica. Contains everything you could ever want to know about every metal band you've ever heard of - and even more you haven't.

Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles

If Blabbermouth is CNN, this is the Fox News Channel. You need to check with these guys too.

CC Banana

A real rock n roll fruit! Somehow, the formula still works - take a funny guy, put him in a banana suit with a video camera, unleash him around rock stars, and hilarity ensues. I wish I'd have thought of this.

Chicks Who Rock

Staci Anderson's website, dedicated to her radio program by the same name. You can listen to her show in Northern California from 8pm to midnight on Saturday nights on Flash 92.1. She's a wonderful person, a great friend, a dedicated rocker, Def Leppard's biggest fan, and one of the hardest working people in the business. She's also smoking hot and wears leather pants. I stil listen to her show online when I get the chance.

Cockeyed

Sacramento's best website. There are no words that can accurately describe it, so just visit. I actually used to work with an old roommate of his, and attended one of their parties. It was the "Maximum Rock N Roll Party", a celebration of over the top 80s metal. How fitting. Of course, I was probably the only one there without a costume, and somehow I still got complimented on my, uh, costume.

Diddly

This guy has a warped sense of humor. He sent me an email once too.

Fulchmeister

I used to work with him back in the day... We spent many a morning... and afternoon... and evening... talking metal, Buffett, and FSU. We road-tripped to Pensacola, FL to see the KISS reunion tour. Our seats sucked, but it was still a great show. We used to watch Tallahassee Tiger Shark hockey games. Those were good times. Geoff's good people, so he gets a (long overdue) link.

House O Groove

She's a fellow Southerner living in California now. I discovered her when she posted a link to my Wacky Customer page when I had my 15 minutes of internet fame. She was one of the first outside sites to pop up in my referral logs. I still check in once in a while.

Infernal Combustion

It's also probably been abandoned, but it's still hysterical. It's The Onion of rock n roll. Enjoy it before it goes offline.

Ivy's Work Log

She wrote to me asking me to link up. I did. After all, this page beats the stuffing out of my old work log. Even my old coworkers thought so.

KNAC

It was the voice of metal in the 80s. That alone merits it's inclusion here.

Latitude 13

She lives on a tropical island, takes lots of pics, and writes interesting entries. How could I NOT link up this page? If she listened to 80s metal she'd be my sister.

Melodic Rock

One of the most informative sites on the net. If you don't already know about this one, you probably watch a lot of MTV and really don't need to be here either.

Metal Sludge

They revolutionized music journalism and probably didn't know how big they would become when they were laughing together in a basement. A well-publicized falling out between the creators followed, and the site has settled into maturity. Maturity is, of course, relative... If Blabbermouth is CNN and Brave Words is Fox News, Metal Sludge is the National Enquirer. People talk smack about 'em, but the reporting is accurate and we all still read it.

Mighty Lambchop

One of my favorites - she listens to metal and uses the word "fuck" a lot. There aren't too many people online that I'd ever want to meet, but I bet that 'ol Mighty Lambchop and I could have some fun - especially at a Judas Priest concert.

Mr Mud Puppy's Metal Mud Puddle

One of my great friends... And he's probably forgotten more about 80s metal than I'll ever know. He actually lived in L.A. during the 80s and can claim to have been handed flyers on the Sunset Strip by many who would go on to fame and (mis)fortune. He's a guitarist with quite the arsenal, a Miami Dolphins fan, and one of the best writers I've got linked up here. He's also truly one of the "good ones" - I've never met anyone so good natured, down to earth, and altruistic.

O'Donnell Web

Another longtime friend of the site, and the source of a great deal of my internet surfing. He offered to buy me a beer, but I had moved from California before he made it out. Someday, it'll happen. Most likely at a baseball game.

The Onion

I absolutely love this site. Even though they have way too many pop ups. It took me a few tries to get it, but once it finally sank in, I was hooked.

Pop Culture Junk Mail

The BEST source for outside links, and excellent commentary. Recommended daily reading.

Sherry Thomas

Anyone who still unashamedly listens to Danger Danger qualifies for a link back.

Sleaze Roxx

One of my favorite music sites - coverage goes to a lot of bands that have been forgotten by most, but remain loved by me.

T. Rex

People are generally surprised by this link - the general theme of his site is "Everything Conservatives Do Is Bad". But it's well-written, well-researched, and he seems like a good guy. I might not agree with him on politics, but I do read his site. Of course, one of his most popular articles was called "Heavy Metal Is Gay". Every time he posts guestbook entries from mouthbreathing metal fans who show up to defend the cause but don't understand sarcasm, parody, and humor, I cringe.

They Will Rock You

Mare's been a friend since the old AOL days. She's incredibly devoted to music, photography, New England Patriots football, and all things dorky. As long as she's online, she gets my support - even more so now with a new e-zine.

USA Today's Hip Clicks

This is the one that started it all. Somehow, my AOL page got submitted. She loved it. Traffic went from maybe 10 or 15 people a day to 40,000, causing me to fear losing my job - especially when referrals started coming in from the home office. Thankfully my 15 minutes has long since passed and I can go back to entertaining just a handful of friends. But I still love this site.

Ze's Page

This is the site that everyone wishes they ran. If we all had more free time, we'd all run sites as cool as this one. But they'd still never be as good.

Zug

The King of Dot Comedy. Make sure you relieve yourself before visiting, 'cause you may lose control laughing. Bar none, the best comedy articles online.

Worley Gig

Gail is a critic who isn't afraid to rock. I used to work at a record store, and noticed that she wrote reviews for our instore magazine. Many years later, I found her site and have had it linked up ever since. She's still super-cool, and is one of the few industry-type folks who've actually acknowledged me!

Neil Zlozower

If you don't know who this guy is, you need to leave my page right now. His work has been featured on my walls for (gulp) almost 30 years. He's taken some of the most famous rock pictures in history, and I can hardly wait for him to sell out and make a coffee table book. He's almost as big an inspiration to me as the musicians he's worked with over the years.
